NEW Chevy in the Hole Subcommittee
The Flint River Corridor Alliance recently formed a Chevy in the Hole Subcommittee to continue encouraging and researching the re-use of the site.
Subcommittee Goals:
1. Build community interest and involvement with Chevy in the Hole planning and redevelopment efforts.
2. Meet with key stakeholders and project partners to promote redevelopment of the site and the Flint River and to build concensus within the community.
3. Continue to research viable funding options for redevelopment of the site, including enviromental remediation, river restoration, historical preservation development of trail networks, pedestrian bridges, site utilities, etc.

Reimagining Chevy in the Hole BOOKLET
REIMAGINING Chevy in the Hole presents the results of a year-and-half long research project conducted by four researchers studying landscape architecture at University of Michigan’s School of Natural Resources and Environment in partnership with the Genesee County Land Bank and the Genesee Institute.
The publication presents two different visions for the site – 1) Flint’s Urban Riverfront and 2) Flint River State Park. These visions provide a range of realistic options for the site, and although is unlikely that either of these scenarios will be carried out exactly as illustrated, elements of each may contribute to the site’s potential redevelopment.
Most importantly, the visions are intended to encourage further discussion about what could and should happen on the site.
